SignalSync 2026.4.0 marks one of the most significant platform releases to date, introducing major new capabilities that expand how organizations connect operational systems, model business data and interact with workflows through AI.
This release delivers three strategic additions to the platform: IoT Connect, a fully operational IoT integration layer powered by ThingsBoard CE; Entity Builder, a new capability for modeling custom business entities without development effort; and the SignalSync MCP Server, enabling AI assistants and external tools to access workflow information through natural language and structured interactions.
Together, these capabilities extend SignalSync beyond workflow orchestration, strengthening its position as a platform where processes, operational data and intelligent automation converge.
Bringing Operational Technology into SignalSync
With the introduction of IoT Connect, organizations can now connect and manage IoT environments directly from within SignalSync.
Built on ThingsBoard Community Edition and integrated into the SignalSync architecture as a dedicated microservice, IoT Connect provides a unified experience for viewing dashboards, managing IoT entities and configuring rule chains without leaving the platform. Users can browse assets, devices, device profiles and alarms through dedicated interfaces, while maintaining a consistent SignalSync experience aligned with tenant branding and permissions.
The result is a more connected operational environment where workflows and field data can coexist within the same platform.
Introducing the Entity Builder
Every organization has unique operational structures. Until now, introducing new data models often required development effort, database changes or custom implementation work.
SignalSync 2026.4.0 introduces the Entity Builder, a new capability that allows administrators to define custom entities directly from the platform. Entities can be configured with their own attributes, relationships and data structures, then published as fully functional consoles available to end users.
This represents an important step in SignalSync’s evolution toward becoming a more adaptable application platform, enabling organizations to model business-specific concepts without relying on traditional development cycles.
Future releases will further extend these capabilities through deeper integration with the Graphical Workflow Engine and Rule Chains, allowing custom entities to participate directly in workflow execution and automation scenarios.
Opening the Door to AI-Powered Operational Insights
Another major milestone in this release is the introduction of the SignalSync MCP Server.
Built on the emerging Model Context Protocol standard, the MCP Server enables AI assistants and external developer tools to securely access workflow information through structured interactions and natural language queries. The first release focuses on read-only reporting scenarios, allowing authorized AI tools to retrieve workflow information while respecting tenant boundaries and security controls.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into enterprise operations, this capability establishes the foundation for a new generation of intelligent operational experiences built on top of SignalSync.
Enhancing Automation Across the Platform
Beyond the headline features, SignalSync 2026.4 introduces a series of enhancements designed to improve automation, reporting and operational efficiency.
Rule Chains can now be executed automatically on configurable schedules, enabling recurring integrations, automated reporting, scheduled notifications and background processing without user intervention.
The reporting experience has also been improved through direct drill-down capabilities, allowing users to move from charts directly into request details. Workflow widgets can now target specific workflow versions, providing more accurate historical analysis and visibility across parallel workflow configurations.
Additional improvements across Facility Maintenance, Management Console and Location Management continue to refine the overall platform experience and operational usability.
Looking Ahead
The 2026.4.0 release represents another step toward SignalSync’s long-term vision of unifying workflows, operational data, connected systems and intelligent automation within a single platform.
With IoT Connect, Entity Builder and MCP Server now available, the foundations are in place for a new generation of process-driven applications capable of connecting people, systems, devices and AI in ways that were previously fragmented across multiple platforms.
With every release, SignalSync moves closer to its vision of becoming a unified platform where processes, data and intelligent automation operate in sync.
